Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD)

Definition: Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) -- sometimes incorrectly referred to as Electronic Brake Distribution -- is a braking technology that is found in many vehicles produced in the mid 1990's onward. During braking, EBD is able to vary the braking force used on each vehicle wheel in order to optimize stopping power and driving stability. Many vehicles equipped with ABS (Anti Lock Braking Systems) also employ EBD as well.
