Reports: 2004-2006 Chevy Uplander Sliding Door Problems
According to some recent news reports, a number of 2004-2006 Chevrolet Uplander minivan owners have been having problems with power sliding doors opening on their own, sometimes when the vehicle is being driven.
WFTV 9 news in Florida has been contacted by several owners who have experienced problems with the doors opening on their own accord, and has produced two reports documenting their findings: the original (posted July 4th) and a follow-up story posted on July 18th.
WHAS-11 News in Kentucky has also posted about the minivan issue, with reporter Kirby Adams stating that the NHTSA has received complaints about "...2005-2006 minivans including the Chevy Uplander, the Buick Terraza, the Pontiac Montana, and the Saturn Relay."
It's important to point out that there isn't an actual recall of any vehicles issued by the NHTSA yet, but if you're an owner of a 2004-2006 GM minivan with power sliding doors you may want to contact your local GM dealer for the latest information.
