Chrysler Issues Minivan Recall
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and news reports, the Chrysler Group has issued a recall for 270,000 minivans, specifically Dodge Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country minivans from the 2005 model year. (2005 Dodge Caravan pictured.)
According to the NHTSA, some of the minivans in question have experienced corrosion around the front air bag sensors, which could lead to the airbags not deploying properly in a collision. According to the NHTSA, the recall involves more than 270,000 vehicles, with the majority of those in states where extensive use of salt for snow removal during winter months can lead to the sensor failure.
If you're an owner of a 2005 Dodge or Chrysler minivan, contact your local Chrysler/Dodge dealer for more information about the recall and the free repair service to fix the issue.
